Features


Hastelloy C276 is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with better overall corrosion resistance than other existing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, including Hastelloy C276, C4 and 625 alloys. Hastelloy C22 alloy has high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It has excellent resistance to aqueous solvents, including wet chlorine, nitric acid or a mixed acid of oxidizing acids containing chloride ions. at the same time, Hastelloy C22 alloy also has the ideal resistance to the reducing and oxidizing environment encountered in the process. With this versatile performance, it can be used in some troublesome environments or in a variety of production plants. Hastelloy C22 alloy has exceptional resistance to a variety of chemical environments, including strong oxidizing substances such as ferric chloride, copper chloride, oxygen, hot contaminated solutions (organic inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater and Salt solution, etc. Hastelloy C22 alloy has the ability to resist the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat affected zone of the weld, so that it can adapt to many chemical process applications under welding conditions.

Corrosion Resistance


Hastelloy C22 alloy is suitable for a variety of chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The higher molybdenum and chromium contents make the alloy resistant to chloride ions, and the tungsten element further enhances its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C22 is one of only a few materials that are resistant to the corrosion of moist chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. It has significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of chloride solutions (such as ferric chloride and Copper chloride)


Applications


Hastelloy C22 alloys are used in a wide range of applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries, such as in the contact with chloride-containing organic components and catalytic systems. This material is especially suitable for use in high temperature, inorganic acids mixed with impurities and organic acids (such as formic acid and acetic acid) and seawater corrosive environments.
