Features


2.3-3.15% Al and 0.35-0.85 Ti were added to Monel 400, and the heat-treated process produced a precipitation hardened Monel K500. This alloy combines the excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of Monel alloy. It also exhibits a high level of strength, and its room temperature mechanical properties are comparable to those of Ni-Cr based alloys and precipitation hardened low alloy steels. In particular, Monel K500 has resistance to hydrogen corrosion and stress corrosion. It is widely used in stressed parts in harsh corrosive environments. Monel K500 has approximately three times the yield strength and twice the tensile strength of Monel 400, and can achieve higher mechanical properties through cold working or age hardening.
Monel K500 alloy is mainly used for pump shafts and impellers, conveyor scrapers, oil well drill rings, elastic parts, valve pads and so on. Others can also manufacture a variety of heat exchange equipment, boiler feed water heaters, petroleum and chemical pipelines, vessels, towers, tanks, valves, pumps, reactors, shafts, and the like. Due to the low corrosion rate in flowing seawater and the high strength of this alloy, Monel K500 is suitable for the manufacture of centrifugal pump shafts resistant to seawater corrosion. Suitable for static and flow rates in seawater.
