Metallographic Structure


The 718 alloy has an austenitic structure, and the Y' phase formed by precipitation hardening gives it excellent mechanical properties. The phase formed at the grain boundary during heat treatment gives the best plasticity

Corrosion Resistance


Whether in high temperature or low temperature environment, 718 alloy has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. The 718 alloy is particularly excellent in oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
